On September 12, 2026, the Canadian superstar opened CELINE DION PARIS 2026 at Plénitude Arena in Nanterre, just outside Paris, delivering her first full-length concert in more than six years.

The sold-out opening night brought together approximately 30,000 fans for an emotional performance spanning more than two hours and 25 songs, revisiting the French- and English-language repertoire that has defined Dion’s extraordinary career.

The evening opened with “On ne change pas.” Moments into the song, Dion became visibly emotional, pausing as the audience welcomed her back. It was a particularly poignant beginning to a concert that carried significance far beyond another tour opening.

Dion’s last full concert took place in March 2020, before the COVID-19 pandemic brought her Courage World Tour to a halt. Her subsequent health struggles further prolonged her absence from touring. In December 2022, the singer publicly revealed that she had been diagnosed with stiff-person syndrome, a rare neurological disorder that can cause severe muscle stiffness and spasms and significantly affected her ability to perform.

Her road back to the stage, however, has unfolded through a series of carefully chosen and increasingly significant appearances.

In July 2024, Dion made an unforgettable return during the Opening Ceremony of the Paris Olympic Games, performing Édith Piaf’s “Hymne à l’amour” from the Eiffel Tower.

Several months later, in November 2024, she returned to live performance once again at The 1001 Seasons of ELIE SAAB in Riyadh — the spectacular celebration of Elie Saab’s 45-year career, bringing together couture, music and performance. Dion closed the event with “The Power of Love” and “I’m Alive,” appearing alongside an international line-up that included Jennifer Lopez, Camila Cabello, Nancy Ajram and Amr Diab.

While these two landmark appearances had already signalled Dion’s gradual return to the stage, September 12 represented something fundamentally different: her return to a complete concert format and to the sustained demands of a major live production.

Announced on Dion’s 58th birthday in March, CELINE DION PARIS 2026 was originally conceived as a limited five-week engagement. Extraordinary demand led to additional performances, expanding the Paris run to 16 concerts between September and October 2026. A further 10 dates are scheduled for May 2027, bringing the residency to 26 performances in total.

The production, under the creative direction of award-winning show designer Willo Perron, brings Dion back to a repertoire that has made her one of the most successful recording artists of all time, including songs such as “The Power of Love,” “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now,” “Because You Loved Me” and “My Heart Will Go On.” The visual identity of the show extends to Dion’s stage wardrobe, curated by her longtime creative collaborator Annie Horth, with custom looks from Dior by Jonathan Anderson, Schiaparelli by Daniel Roseberry, Givenchy by Sarah Burton, Tom Ford by Haider Ackermann and Alaïa. Monumental transforming sets and large-scale LED screens featuring imagery created by French photographer and filmmaker Thibaut Grevet further shape the production’s cinematic visual language.

For Dion, the opening night in Paris was more than a comeback. After years in which the future of her live career remained uncertain, it marked a transition from isolated appearances back to the scale, discipline and emotional intensity of a full concert.

Céline Dion is not simply back on stage. She is performing concerts again.
