OSCAR 2021
On April 25, the most prestigious awards in the film industry will take place – the 93rd Academy Awards, also known as the Oscars. It will be held at the Dolby Theater, as has been the tradition since 2001, but there will also be a satellite location at a different venue this year.

The Union Station in Los Angeles will help guests keep the necessary distance. This is not the only change that is integrated into the Oscar regulations due to COVID-19. For the first time in the history of the awards, films released on streaming services were allowed to participate, but only those that were scheduled to be shown on a widescreen and for obvious reasons (quarantine, restrictions on visiting public places) were canceled or rescheduled, as well as films presented in theaters outside of Los Angeles County, in cities such as New York, Miami, Chicago, Atlanta, and the San Francisco Bay Area.
In addition, there was information in late March about satellite venues for the London and Paris awards ceremony for those unable to travel to California. The organizers made a difficult decision to keep the offline format of the awards, and guests who want to be in "Dolby" will have to spend some time in quarantine.
"THE BEST FILM" The drama "Mank" received the most nominations. One of the reasons is the film’s visual style that is as close as possible to that used by the creators of the legendary film "Citizen Kane", which occupies an honorable place in the National Film Registry and is stored in the Library of Congress. The storyline is based on the story of Herman J. Mankiewicz, who developed the script for Citizen Kane. The film depicts the Golden Age of Hollywood and showcases the stellar performances by Gary Oldman, nominated in the BEST ACTOR category, and Amanda Seyfried, who played the role of actress Marion Davis and was nominated for BEST SUPPORTING ACTRESS.
"Mank" Directed By David Fincher.
Another contender in this category is "Nomadland", which won the Golden Globe Award 2021 in the two most significant categories: "BEST DRAMATIC FILM" and "BEST DIRECTOR". The film tells about the fate of Fern, a 60-year-old woman left without a job and forced to become a "nomad" moving from one state in America to another in her van with simple belongings.
